The course "Fundamentals of Fluid Power" will be replaced by the new course "Fluid Power - Systems and Components" starting with the winter semester 21/22.
Fluid Power - Systems and Components (formerly Fundamentals of Fluid Power)
In the course "Fluidtechnik - Systeme und Komponenten", students learn the basics of hydraulic and pneumatic drive technology and their systems. In addition to a deeper understanding of the system, the focus is on teaching the hydraulic components. The digital mapping of these components and the combination to a digital model of the system is another focus of the course.
Target Audience
The lecture addresses students of mechanical engineering (Bachelor or Master).
Content
In this lecture students will learn to understand the fundamentals of fluid power systems.
The fundamentals of hydrostatics and hydrodynamics are presented in order to calculate flow relationships, flow forces, inductances and capacities as well as the transmission behavior of pipes. In pneumatics, the theoretical basics are discussed in order to clarify questions about flow relationships for different types of resistance. The students will be able to calculate, design and arrange components for simple applications. Fluids can be named and distinguished according to their properties and applications.
Topics:
- Fundamentals of hydraulics
- Fluids
- Pumps and motors
- Valves
- Hydrostatic transmissions
- Pneumatics
Further information can be taken from RWTH Online.
