Curriculum vitae

Niklas Bauer studied from 2013 to 2017 in the bachelor's program in mechanical engineering with a specialization in design engineering and from 2017 to 2019 in the master's program in development and design at RWTH Aachen University.

Since 2019, Mr. Bauer has been working as a research associate at the Institute of Fluid Power Drives and Systems at RWTH Aachen University in the groups Tribology and Fluids. Mr. Bauer's main focus is on EHD simulation of translational seals and contact mechanics of rough surfaces. Starting from 2022, Mr. Bauer leads the group Fluids.

In teaching, Mr. Bauer is entrusted with the subject Servohydraulics.

Public research projects of Mr. Bauer:

  • Transient Friction and Leakage Behavior of Translational Hydraulic Seals (Reinhart-Koselleck Project of the German Research Foundation (DFG), File no.: MU 1225/36-1)
  • Calculation of transient seal friction in pneumatic components (Supported by the Forschungskuratorium Maschinenbau and the Research Fund of the Fluid Power Association in the VDMA)
