Vita
Amos Merkel, M.Sc. studied from 2012 to 2016 Bachelor Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Design Engineering and from 2016 to 2018 Master Development and Design at RWTH Aachen University.
Since 2018, Mr. Merkel has been working as a research assistant at the Institute of Fluid Power Drives and Systems at RWTH Aachen University in the groups High-Performance Components and Digitalization and Automation. Starting from 2021, Mr. Merkel leads the group Digitalization and Automation.
Mr. Merkel‘s main focus is on hydro-mechanical control design, pump robustness and elctro-hydrostatic actuators.
In teaching, Mr. Merkel is responsible for the subject of servo hydraulics.

- HMGSB – hydro-mechanic closed-loop brake torque control for railway vehicles
- MODULAR – Smart actuator concepts for electromechanical and electrohydraulic drives
